DIY: Kitchen organizing ideas and a FREEBIE!

Hi All,

Sjowee I haven't done a DIY post in a long time.
Since I am on a mission to organize my house. I thought I'd share few tips and ideas on what has worked for me so far.

I always prefer to test drive any DIY's and ideas I find on internet etc. And also try to modify where needed.

Kitchen. A place in everyone's house where everyone always seem to gather. No matter how nice your entertainment area is, many times everyone will gather in the kitchen. Why? I mean, come on, that is where all the magic happens. Hehe.

To be proud of your kitchen and don't feel embarrassed when people open your cupboards etc. See some easy organizing tips and ideas to organize your kitchen.
Below that I've made two different kinds labels and instructions on different ways of using them.

Happy Organizing All!

And here are some great ways of organizing using jars. Plus a label freebie at the end!

Here is two types of labels and some handy instructions on how to get to use them.

Instructions:

(1)
Click on the image and press 'save as' and save it anywhere on your PC.
(2)
Than insert the image into you Microsoft Word. Size it accordingly.
(3)
Once you have the correct size. Insert text and type out the word in the white space of the label.
(4)
Once you have all the labels typed out, press the magic button print.
(5)
Another option is you can print it as a sticker, peel it and stick it onto your jar.
(6)
If like me, you don't have that option. than cut out the label, place it on the jar or the lid and cut out a piece of 'Desi-fix'. And neatly seal the label on. I've had mine for a long time on my jar and it seems to be last pretty well. I can wipe with wet cloth over it, but I don't think it will withstand a a soak in the sink or the dishwasher.

Here is my thoughts on labeling:
I found that labeling not only allows you to find your goodies faster but it also helps putting the items back into the correct containers. Be sure that when you put the label on a jar or any container that you first check where is the container going to stand so that the labels will be visible. It is honestly the best way to organize any space in your house.

Have a great day all!

Day 01: Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Hi All,

Here is my first post on the series of posts working through the verse
Colossians 3:1-24 . I am no preacher and writing this is my understanding of this verse. If you have something to add, please feel free to add in the comments below. I would love to hear your views.

 Colossians 3:1-7

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

There is two things that I have highlighted in the above paragraph. Lets quickly talk about the first one…

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

God is clearly telling us that if we want a good life we need to keep our minds on the good things and not on the earthly things. Being jealous and waiting for good things to happen won’t get you anywhere. If your mind and soul will be focused on the things above, God will bless you and give you the strength to accomplish your dreams and more. Do not let earthly, material things take majority of your thoughts.

Here is the second part:

“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”

SEXUAL IMMORALITY , IMPURITY, LUST, EVIL DESIRES, GREED

Life on earth is limited for all of us. We all know that, it’s a fact. However, life in Gods footsteps is eternal. He tells us so many times. He asks so little of us and offers so much.

How are we suppose to build a healthy environment for our children and their children with broken souls? Devils happiness comes from breaking down our souls. He thrives on our weaknesses. Do not give him the pleasure to destroy your soul. Put to death evil desires and the Lord with bless you with strength and peace.

Below I’m adding a printable card to keep as a reminder of this verse and what you can do to practice this verse in real life.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope it will help you living your life in Jesus footsteps. Enjoy the peace that comes with following the right path.
Lead your family and children closer to God.

Have a blessed day all and keep your eyes open for the next post of this series.

Are you ready for the journey? Colossians 3:1-21

HI All,
Past Sunday at church our local Pastor gave an amazing service that really caught my attention. Why? Because he spoke about a verse that serves such basis to a happy and Christian household. From yourself to your family, this few lines are so powerful and so true. If. If only all families and people relied on these basic principles. What a different world we would live in.

Seeing so little people in church made me sad…what happened?
Hearing from someone I know that there are kids that want a bible, that want to go to church, but they say their parents don’t bother…what happened?

How do we expect a world to change, if we cannot make changes in our own households?

I’m hoping, that by sharing this verse, and going through it bit by bit, that it will reach a lot of people and that they will start living their lives accordingly. I’m no saint, but I am ready for this journey to become a soul with peace inside.
So join me…

I will post the whole verse with this post and than go through it bit by bit. If you have something to add to it. Please feel free to do so. I will take about 2 days per section, so that it can properly sink in and that you and I will be able to apply it in your life.

Thank you for reading my post this far…

Colossians 3:1-24
 New International Version (NIV)

DAY 01
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

DAY 02
But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

DAY 03
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

DAY 04
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

DAY 05
18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

DAY 06
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

DAY 07
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

DAY 08
21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

DAY 09
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Gift your child with Memories instead of presents.

Hi All,

Our children minds are so polluted of what it is to be happy. Today's society and media teach our kids that to be happy and 'cool', you need to have the 'latest'. Now I ask you this question. Do you really want your child to grow up to be a selfish and self centered adult? I don't think so.

Kids become so obsessed with obtaining what's 'in' that they forget to stop and smell the roses. What happened to playing a simple board game or star gazing. Having that special time with mom and dad or simply talking.
It is our duty as parents to teach our kids to create memories rather than striving to having the best and the latest. By creating memories with our kids we teach them to feed their souls with joy, passion and happiness. Together with faith we need to teach them how to build a firm rock to stand on.

Our duty as parent is more than just providing food, home, clothes etc. It is to give them security, love and hope. By creating happy memories, you allow your child to build a strong character. With memories of what a role of a Holy father and mother should be, your child will become that and further pass it onto their children.

"Do not allow the world to shape their souls."

Do not allow your child to have empty spaces in their hearts and minds when they are older. Parents! Never underestimate the power of a silly chat or making shapes out of clouds. Create happy moments for your kids so that when they are older and you're not there to cheer them up they will have this rock called MEMORY to lift them back up and carry on.

"Memories shape them. It shapes their soul."

Do not allow the world to shape their souls. God has given you this beautiful gift to mold into God loving human being. It is the small moments that shape their memories to last a lifetime.

I am so so grateful that my parents gave me memories of a happy home. A home I will do anything to have for my child. My parents created a happy haven where in trouble or hard times I could always go to. I felt safe I felt good. And that is a constant reminder to create the same for my child.

Live like there is not tomorrow. Live today and look into your children's eyes like its the last time you'll see them.

"Create a safe haven for your children."

Have a blessed day all.
